Nigel Cox
Nigel Cox is a manufacturing and supply chain practitioner, educator, and consultant with more than five decades of experience spanning industry, ERP, and professional education.
He holds engineering and computing degrees from Cambridge University, a U.S. bachelor’s degree with emphasis in mathematics and analytics, and a master’s degree in computing engineering. He earned CFPIM and CIRM certifications in the early 1990s and has an extensive history as an APICS/ASCM educator, delivering more than 40 CPIM and CIRM certification workshops. He has also served as an APICS Chapter President, Region Education Director, and ASQC Section Chair.
Nigel began his career in manufacturing, progressing from Production Control to Head of IT and leading a successful MAPICS ERP implementation in the late 1970s. Since then, he has worked continuously with ERP systems, holding senior roles across materials management, IT, and engineering in both the UK and the United States. His industry experience spans engineer‑to‑order, make‑to‑order, configure‑to‑order, and make‑to‑stock environments across consumer, industrial, aerospace, semiconductor, pulp and paper, textile, and apparel industries.
For the past 25+ years, Nigel has focused on ERP consulting and solution architecture, including PeopleSoft SCM, JD Edwards, and nearly two decades specializing in Microsoft Dynamics AX and Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management. He has delivered more than 25 multi‑day workshops on supply chain planning and production costing and is a frequent speaker at Community Summit, DynamicsCon, and regional user groups.
Nigel is recognized for his practical, business‑first approach to S&OP, Master Production Scheduling, demand planning, and ERP implementation. In 2024, he was named a Community Summit “Legend” for his contributions to the Dynamics community.
