Day 1


Warehousing 101 - Warehousing Basics is a comprehensive 1-day course designed to provide participants with a solid foundation in warehouse operations and management in Business Central. This course covers essential concepts, configurations, and practices necessary for effective warehouse management.

1. Warehouse Concepts:

  • Understanding Bins, Racking, Zones, and Pick paths
  • Exploring the significance of warehouse layout and organization for efficient operations.

2. Warehouse Configuration Options:

  • Bin Setup: Learn to configure storage bins for optimal inventory management.
  • Inventory Transactions: Understand different types of inventory transactions and their implications.
  • Warehouse Transactions: Gain insights into warehouse-level transactions for seamless operations.
  • Movements: Explore the process of inventory movements within the warehouse and its impact on overall efficiency.

3. Basic Warehouse Setup:

  • Establishing a basic warehouse setup tailored to specific business needs.
  • Implementing best practices for warehouse layout and design to maximize space utilization and productivity.

4. Basic Inventory Transactions:

  • Inventory Putaway: Master the process of receiving and storing inventory in designated bins.
  • Inventory Movement: Learn how to facilitate smooth inventory movements within the warehouse.
  • Inventory Picks: Understand the intricacies of picking inventory items for orders or distribution.

Warehousing 102 - Advanced Warehousing is an intensive 1-day course designed to equip participants with advanced knowledge and skills in warehouse management in Business Central. Building upon the foundational concepts covered in Warehousing 101, this course delves deeper into advanced strategies and configurations for optimizing more complex warehouse operations.

Course Outline:
1. Warehouse Concepts:

  • Picking Strategies: Explore advanced picking strategies to enhance efficiency and accuracy in order fulfillment.
  • Optimal Pickpaths: Learn to design and implement pickpaths that minimize travel time and maximize productivity.
  • Replenishment: Understand the importance of replenishment strategies in maintaining optimal inventory levels and speeding up picking.


2. Warehouse Configuration Options:

  • Zone Setup: Master the concept of zoning and its role in organizing warehouse space for improved workflow.
  • Advanced Bin Setup: Dive into advanced bin setup options for enhanced inventory management and storage optimization.
  • Warehouse Transactions: Explore advanced warehouse transactions and their impact on operational efficiency.
  • Directed Replenishments: Learn to implement directed replenishment strategies to streamline inventory replenishment processes.
  • Pick Worksheet: Understand the use of pick worksheets for efficient order picking and fulfillment.
